Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Forensic Consultant to lead and execute complex digital forensic investigations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in forensic acquisition, analysis, and reporting, and will play a key role in mentoring junior analysts, refining methodologies, and contributing to strategic initiatives within the forensics team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive digital forensic investigations across various platforms (computers, mobile devices, servers, cloud environments).
  • Perform forensic imaging, data recovery, metadata analysis, and timeline reconstruction using advanced tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Cellebrite, Magnet AXIOM).
  • Guide incident response efforts by analyzing attack vectors, data exfiltration, and unauthorized access trails.
  • Produce high-quality, defensible forensic reports suitable for legal proceedings, compliance audits, and corporate investigations.
  • Provide expert-level consultation to clients, internal teams, or law enforcement on digital evidence handling and interpretation.
  • Mentor junior analysts, review casework, and contribute to training and quality assurance efforts.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and adhere to legal standards in evidence handling.
  • Research and implement emerging forensic tools, techniques, and threat trends to enhance investigative capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Industry certifications such as EnCE, CCE, CHFI, or equivalent are highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of forensic principles, evidence handling, and digital investigation workflows.
  • Proficient with forensic tools and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and data parsing.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, file systems, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.).

Experience

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in digital forensics, preferably in a consulting, corporate, or law enforcement setting.
  • Proven track record of independently managing investigations from intake through final reporting.
  • Experience presenting technical findings to legal, executive, or non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in memory forensics, mobile device analysis, or reverse engineering.
  • Knowledge of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Exposure to tools such as Volatility, YARA, or network traffic analysis platforms.
  • Experience serving as an expert witness or supporting litigation/eDiscovery teams.
